A Little About Me
While your child and I will be getting to know each other very well this school year, it's important for you to get to know a little about me as well!
I was born and raised in Mount Prospect with my mom, dad and younger brother. I now reside in Crystal Lake with my fiance(a fun new title as of July 2018), 6 year old stepson and the cutest dog you'll ever meet named Wrigley.
I graduated from Marquette University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. While at Marquette, I had the opportunity to study abroad in South Africa and teach in the township of Langa.
After graduation, I moved out to Washington, DC, where I taught 2nd grade for two years. Ultimately, the Midwest truly is the best so I moved back to the Chicago suburbs and worked at a non-profit called Cradles to Crayons, where I helped serve underprivileged children in Chicago. After a year away, I got back into the classroom and taught 6th grade STEM and 8th grade math in Wauwatosa, WI. I wanted to work closer to home, which led me to the 5th grade position at Hooper.
Some things I enjoy outside of school are:
I hope this helps give you a better idea about who I am! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out and let me know. I'm looking forward to a great year and getting to know you and your child better!
Best,

Some things I enjoy outside of school are:
- Singing: I was involved in show choir all throughout high school and actually considered going to school for it for awhile before changing my mind into education.
- Arts and Crafts: I love any type of art project and have always had a passion for art.
- Being active: I try to make a point to be active everyday whether it's walking Wrigley or going to the gym!
- Going up north to our cabin in Eagle River, WI: My fiance's family has 80 acres up there and we enjoy going fishing, hunting and looking at the beautiful stars at night.
I hope this helps give you a better idea about who I am! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out and let me know. I'm looking forward to a great year and getting to know you and your child better!
